David,
Most of the Carpenters local to Howards town would like to thank you for suggesting stripping paint with a torch. After he burns his house down they might have a chance of building him a new one.
We were working on a house years ago and the Owner had a guy there stripping the paint with a torch. I got a call the next morning saying not to bother coming in that day, as the house had burned the night before. It wasnt a complete loss, but the entire second story was gone. It was assumed that the crud in between the siding was smoldering and got going and its all history then.
The Owner hired a bigger company to make the repairs so I ended up losing the work we were supposed to do in the first place.
I would never recommend flame or heat for stripping a house!
Tim
