Hi Steve,I was just going to post the same thing. I rebuilt my 230 when I first got my truck and had the timing gear a tooth off. It ran fine at idle, and I actually plowed with it for a couple of years that way, as I never tried running it fast. Once I got the rest of the truck fixed up enough to take it on the roard I found that it had no power and ran like crap. After going through all of the steps like Sterling is now, I had a guy listen to it and he instantly said "valve timing is off", and he was right!
