The included angle ground on the end of a drill bit should be 118 degrees. If you take two hex nuts and place them flat to flat you will form an included angle of 120 degrees. You can use this simple trick as a guide to grind or resharpen dull bits. Just lay the nuts on a flat surface with the flats touching and slide your drill bit against the nuts. Keep grinding until both flutes contact the flats. Remember to grind a little relief starting from the cutting edge back on each flute.
