Yes, the gas ZF S542 will bolt right up to the ford BH on the Cummins. The ford diesel version of the ZFS% 42 will not. However , from what I have read, the diesel version gear set will fit, plug n play in the gas version case.
The ZF is a good tranny, my only concern is that the Gas Version has a internal clutch slave which makes a lot more work to change
