My W300 came without one. Maybe it looked like a pretzel from someone pulling with it?
I built a bumper from a piece of 2"x8" heavy wall rectangular tubing, and frenched a couple of backup lights and a couple of stop/turn/tail lights into it. Simple to do with some lengths of round tubing. Not original, but looks good.
