I have Bayliner boat with a 5 liter Chevy carburated engine. Ran fine a week ago. Started it up yesterday, started easily, but will stall immediatedly if you try and open the throttle....never like this before, even when cold.

If you start it up with the part throttle but disengaged from the prop, it will run fast for a bit, but I don't know how long since it was out of the water. You absolutely cannot speed up the engine at all if it is started at idle speed....the slightest, slowest advance of the throttle kills the engine, It will however immediate restart and idle indefinitely.
This happens in the water with the engine at operating temperature.

Changed the filter/water separator, which contained no water but still no joy.

So it behaves like it is not getting fuel, but this engine has only 50 hours on it....not likely to be fuel pump is it?

Any ideas?
