Ethanol keeps the water dissolved, won't settle out.

Pre-ethanol, sure. But remember "fuel dryer"? It was alcohol to dump in your tank, to keep the water dissolved, and 'burn' it in the engine a harmless little bit at a time. Nowadays, we have 'fuel dryer" built in at anywhere from 5% to 15% (e-85?)

Not to say the dissolved water won't cause corrosion. I'm ignorant there.

I'm using stainless steel tank and lines, and except for brass fittings, the only ting subject to corrosion are the zinc pump and carb bodies. And I sure remember them clogging with oxides in the days pre-ethanol.
