No reason it shouldn't work OK, just a bit congested in there. I used a CAV combined filter and sediment bowl with drain unit mounted to the chassis rail just behind the cabin. These are same/similar to the ones used on trucks and inboard bot engines and I've used them on other vehicles with success.
