You may be misunderstanding the purpose of aftermarket parts. The fact that there are aftermarket parts support for a particular vehicle, manufacturer, etc. doesn't mean the vehicle is necessarily flawed. It simply means that somebody is offering an improvement over factory for a price, e.g., disc brake kits for a Power Wagon. Does the make the Power Wagon a bad truck? No, of course not, but the brakes could use some improvement, hence, aftermarket parts development. No doubt, there are just as many avid supporters of the Series trucks as there are critics. That's the case for any vehicle. Plenty of old Series still soldering on in South America, Europe, Africa, etc. Having owned a couple of old Series, Power Wagons, and a host of other old 4x4s, I'm familiar with the qualities of both. All vehicles have strengths and weaknesses, including Power Wagons.
