Sterling, my comment may confuse you even more but I think you should consider the trades. I am partial to machinist. You have done the college thing and been successful. You have the degree as evidence of your hard work. You have the ambition and interest in mechanical things as your numerous posts show. You say you already work in the gas and oil exploration game. I think that industry can always use someone that can disassemble a damaged pump weld the broken pieces back together and remachine the fits in half a day. I have been a machinist for almost thirty years and have never seen the demand for a talented machinist higher. Mike Rowe from dirty jobs has been passionate about this very subject for years. Google him and read some of his commentary on the subject.
