Water in spark plug wells....

Anyone else have this problem?

Rainwater accumulates in the spark plug wells of my Flat Fender, especially numbers five and six. My hood doesn't fit all that well and the lacing is a bit worn, but I believe it is coming through the piano hinge. The truck is not a daily driver and at times I forget, and the water sits there for an extended period of time causing rust to form. Has not yet caused any problems, such as spark plug removal. Short of throwing a tarp over the hood, any suggestions? There may have been some talk here a while ago on this subject.
