Simply remove the input worm shaft and put everything back together backwards.
I don't know about LUs.
In fact, on my next MU overhaul, I may make a new worm shaft, and extend it out the front. I think I can just cut a hole in the brake cover. That would give me a drive for a capstan on a different axis. I saw a pic of something like that, another 90°worm gear box with capstan on a vertical axis.
