Paul, I had a car painted at Maaco when I was young...the whole layer of paint peeled off!
Then I had it redone at Earl Shieb & within 2 years the rocker panels all rusted out.
You're comparing similar quality powder coat.
Good quality powder coat is not cheaper than paint...just way better but you're comparing things that were done with crappy powder to save money...just like having a car painted at Earl Shieb for $199.
