I don't have anything against firetrucks other than nobody will pay for them. Everyone wants them left original & not molested...but they don't want to buy them.... they just want you & I to buy them but for heavens sake....leave them alone!
If that wasn't true, the prices they would command would be equal to a factory original truck...& that $14k low mileage truck would have been sold 51 weeks ago.
I know of at least 10 regular members of this forum who have removed all the fire apparatus from one or more truck yet they don't like to talk about it here because folks get mad.
I say to those folks, lets put your money where your mouth is...that W500 is as nice as they come...a steal at $14k!! So go withdraw the money & buy it & if people would pay the money for them...us firetruck dismantlers would stop our dismantling :)
I consider a firetruck the same as an oil tanker...once it's taken out of service it's just a useless museum/parade truck unless you repurpose it.
That's my thought on the subject anyway.
I mean seriously...what the heck use is a truck like that?
