Believe me, there's no grass in the Alvord desert. It's just a big hard dry playa. It usually floods every spring and then dries up again. Even around the edges where it's softer and stays wet, much of it is too salty for anything to live. There are two hot springs on the edges and a borax spring at the south end, where they used to mine borax. I've been told there's a hut made of box blocks there but I haven't gone out to see it. I think the "photo" in that video was just a fake, though.
