I was the heater repairman for all of the M vehicles in Ft. Wainwright Alaska in 1968-69. Every vehicle had at least one gas or diesel heater and when it hit -70 that is almost all they cared about. We has M37,M715s just came out, M151, m35 and 5 tons and a bunch of tracks.
I learned hoe to convert them to 12 volt and had one in my 1960 ford pickup and all of the brass came around and "ordered" one for their civi rig.
