I got one for you, Jerry one winter several years ago I was flying over the North fork of the Clearwater in the slack water behind the dam. There were hundreds of Elk trapped in the ice where they broke thru. All of the ice holes were surrounded by rings of blood where the predators were feeding on the trapped elk.
I found out latter the stellar Idaho game cops hired helicopters to chase the herds over the ice to winter on the other side, just one problem all of the heavy ones didn't make it.
