I used to live on the coast of central Calif. There were miles and miles of beach that they allowed us to drive on (then). Morro Bay had sand dunes that were a real challenge for most vehicles, which soon got stuck. The solution was wide, soft sidewalled tires, aired down to very low pressure, for flotation. Airplane tires were commonly used. Anyway, my observation to Clint's statement, quoted above, is that if anyone is considering duals, he should think about the adverse effects that will be experienced if the truck is driven in deep mud or snow, where flotation is NOT usually beneficial.
