The old Paint & Body work costs.............

Paint & Body is a very interesting thing to get involved in. Depending on where you live in the country will determine the costs involved. There are guys out there that do premium work for a premium price. Others have lower overhead and do it for less. Some body shops do not want to do restoration type work and will tell you no or price it so high that you would be an idiot to take it there for work.

Some tell you that you can get back what you put into it. Maybe and maybe not. There will always be a special area for high end vehicles and restorations and a special crowd that goes with them (they have lots of cash) while others will simply not be able to afford that $30,000 Power Wagon. In any collectible vehicle area sometimes you can have more in it then its worth. Power Wagons are no different then other vehicles. Most of the time its a labor of love.

Then there are the guys who do it themselves. Some of the vehicles look nice and some of them look horrible. Don't think that your farm store paint job will bring the same amount of money as that 20-25,000$ paint job you could have on your Power Wagon from the professional body shop!

Body work and paint is a very hard job to do physically and it takes skill like many other trades. As others have said you may find its cheaper to buy decent parts somewhere then try and fix your old ones.

In the end you have to decide what you want to do with your Power Wagon and how much $ you have or want to spend.
