Sterling, The answer is yes you can remove and replace a 251 oil pan without extreme measures. I put mine back on today. I found that the two front most bolts could be installed using a 1/4 inch drive universal joint next to the socket and several extensions. It's mostly working by brail but it did work. Word to the wise! Put tape over the hole on the top right side of the front cross member as it ate two of my bolts. I was only able to fish one out using a magnet taped to a stiff copper wire. Again all brail, just a matter of luck. The pan went back up easily. That inch plus of dried grease I dug off the top of the cross member did the trick. I think the bolt count was 20. Jim
