I pretty much have that finished up. Have a video of it somewhere I think I posted, but I'm happy with the results and I had other plans for the center console anyway but it could be pretty small with the right motor and cover.
However if there is any weak link in the system it's either the wiper pivots or the arms themselves, as all the rest is really strong.
I also managed to find a commercial application wiper switch that provides all the functionality of modern systems (intermittant, Low, & High speeds, self park, and washer control) with a simple one knob control. It's too big to mount in the header, even with the way my system is laid out, but it's simple, self contained, and off the shelf, just a simple single hole screw type mount.
