Yup, it all just comes down to hours. I mean the job Ron just described there...174hrs & not done. Here in Vancouver the average shop rate is $100/hr...with no supplies that would already be over $17k!
There's no fast way to prep a vehicle. The paint is the easy part. 174hrs is only a months work for 1 man...you get the drift.
That's just the going rate in 2013...usually the guy that works cheaper, works cheaper for a reason.
Nobody does anything for free & so if a shop charges $100/hr, even if a guy works from his own garage....why would he work much cheaper unless he had a shortage of work?
