I agree with the old style "on the vehicle" spin balance. This gets the drum and hub as well as the wheel and tire. But I don't know anyone around here who has one. And the bubble balance...same thing...probably works fine, but none around.
And...when I drove it to the tire shop with no weights, it drove fine. This is a Les Schwab tire store, and they never charge me for balancing, re-balancing, rotating, repairing flats, or anything. I buy tires for 5 pickups, 1 dump trailer, 2 flatbed trailers, and one enclosed tool trailer, 2 boats and my wife's car, as well as my 2 sons and 1 daughter also buy tires for their vehicles. We get very good service from them, with no complaining. Since the pulsing problem disappeared with the removal of the glue-on weights, and has not re-appeared after the clamp=on weights were installed, I am satisfied where the problem was and that it is now solved.
