Don't know what kind of rig you'll have but for something really weird near Hoquiam you could go out and drive on the part of hwy 101 that was started but never finished back around 1960 across the Quinault Indian reservation. Currently 101 goes way inland and bypasses the res, but at the time they were trying to move it close to the ocean like 101 in Oregon. They got it about half way built and the Indians stopped it. You go out to Taholah and then go north from there. There are several wide bridges and wide highway cuts though the hills, each less finished and more overgrown than the last. At one point there's a wide cut in the hill on each side of the valley, but no bridge at all, except for a little temporary bridge on the pioneer road down in the bottom of the valley that was built for the construction and is still there 40 years later. I have never driven all the way through to where it was supposed to connect back to the old 101 on the north side of the res. If I remember right, there might be some spot along there where there's a creek with no bridge at all. Like I said, it's something different. Your wife probably wouldn't like it. But she might like night and a dinner in the Lake Quinault lodge, and there's a nice nature trail near by that winds around some really huge old growth doug firs.
