I bet that the admin at FedEx and UPS came from the airlines. Quota a low price then nail you on fees and extra charges.
Ups is the worst. They indiscriminately will charge additional fees if they don't like your box, tape, address or anything else they dream up. On the other hand, try to collect from them if they lose your box or wreck the box.
