Ethanol will absorb water to a certain point and then, it stratifies into layers of combustible and non-combustible. If you use it before that happens, you are good. If not, you have a mess.

On vehicles that are used irregularly, I only put in the amount of gas that I know I can use within a few months. For vehicles, that I won't be using, I drain the tank. I live in a dry area, so I am less concerned with fuel tank corrosion than I am the fuel going bad.

I use Stabil in vehicles that aren't used on a regular basis.
