My '67 still has vaccuum wipers. The winch story is fishy. So is the bed story. I also can't see how the photo could screw up in exactly that way, but who knows? He called Braden? What could they possibly say about how it was mounted? They didn't weld that thing on the frame.
In fact, the guy is admitting that he knows the whole history so the deal sounds worse, not better to me. He can't plead ignorance. You can't help wondering what else is a little off-color.
You have to wonder how many PW's like this are out there owned by guys who have no contact with "us". If he did, he would probably set a realistic price and might even represent the truck more honestly since he would know we would see through the bs.
At the right price, it still might be a nice, albeit not completely original, truck. It would certainly require close inspection.
