I just removed the top of my b-3 gerstenslager ambulance body and have replaced it with the skin of the cab from a 41-46 civilian type. I had to cut the bottom of the cab to match the 3 inch skirt under the rocker panel to the side step. It looks great and matches up very nice but, I am having problems with the seam above the windshield. The old ambulance top went to an extreme angle like a UPS truck. This angle made the existing sheet metal come 15 deg away from the frame on the wind shield. This leaves a 1" gap on top left of the door frame on the drivers side and the same on the top right of the passenger side. Anyone got info on the best way to go about mateing the 2 together. Like possibly shimming the gap and welding the seam shut to close. Also I am needing info on the seat frame. I had flip up type troop seats and I am wanting to put in a regular bench. I had to cut out the hump in the middle of the frame but it still leaves me un level by 1.5" on the front of the frame closest to the dash. A 2x4 is exactly enough to lift me level. Anybody have a seat frame that they wanna sell me? Or should I just go to a metal shop and have the fabricate one?
Thanks fella's!
