Help- Should I dip to remove paint/rust

Has anyone had experince with parts dipping to remove paint/grime and rust? I removed the bed from my B4 and thought rather than sandbalasting (fear of metal warping), I would have the sides and cross memebers dipped. If this is a good choice, are there any commercial places that do this operation in Virginia/Maryland area?
