Now THERE's a torque motor. For pure pulling power, it sure puts a 302 Ford V-8 to shame, though in stock form it won't win any speed contests.

With the right hop-up parts, it will smoke many small block V-8's. There's a 1970 Maverick running around my area with a built 300 Six. He's running low 13's and has sometimes broken into the very high 12's. He's em-bare-assed a lot of kids with their Chevys.

Shame it is so long, because it has a main bearing on each side of each rod, unlike many other inline sixes. It is much tougher than the Slant Six. Alas, it is longer and I doubt it would fit the M37 w/o firewall hacking. 55 mph @ 3200 rpm with a properly set up and balanced 300 Six would be a snap.
