When I was young,I saw two ways to battle, verbal and my preferred method back then, velosity, which always settled it much quicker and was always a sure win on my part. I have for the most part grown older and less motivated to jump into a fight at the drop of a hat and would have enjoyed just reading this heated humorous exchange of ideas and opinions but, when you used the word bigoted,I couldn't resist making this comment.
Years back I remember a spell when the words bigot and racist were flying constantly and it seemed to me that if you were a free thinker and had any type idea or opinion outside that of liberalism and (the not yet coined phrase)politcal correctness, you were labeled with one or both of these words. So,I went on a search just to see if I was indeed (by definition)a racist or bigot. Thinking that using several older dictionaries which had longer more indepth explainations,I would be able to discern the truth as per definition.Webster's,Oxford's and a couple others were used to cross ref. and low and behold I realize it was true, most people use words incorrectly and could not possibly accuse me of being a racist or bigot according to established definitions. Even though it has always seemed to be the (so called) liberal minded that like to use words out of text to sway the simple minded, consevatives have their own faults as well.
But you hit my spot when you said bigoted and could not possibly prove the man had unfounded reasons for disliking liberals(which is what a bigot is) someone who is prejudice without proof or reason.
