George,

I dug out my doors today. What I found confirms my post of yesterday that my early door is neither formed nor punched to accept the the window channel that is needed with vent windows. I also learned that early and later window regulators have more differances than similarities. The early door will accept only the early regulator. The later doors, in addition to accepting the later regulator, also have the old hole pattern and will accept the early regulator also.

The early regulator will not work in conjunction with vent windows even when installed in the later doors. All of my later doors, including the ones without vent windows, use the later regulator. My early door will not accept a Power Wagon arm rest. It also has the trim channels used with fiber door panels.

So, the question still remains: Do early '46 WDX doors share these same peculiarities, and can vent windows not be installed in them? This is kinda fun. Grandpa told me that I'd learn something new every day.
