The reason I would like to fix this truck up is because it is a "XM"221 meaning that it is and expiremental prototype version. WHen dealing with post war M series military vehicles, the "M" is used for regular issue production vehicles while "XM" is used for Expiremental and prototype vehicles. These are the ones used for testing before the military standardizes them and gets contracts going for production. To me "XM" has some signifigance. That is why I would like to fix this thing up. I do plan to remove the 5th wheel plate and shorten some cargo bed for it. It wont be a 100 point show truck, but I want to make it safe and presentable so I can run it in parades, take it to events or use it in local cruse nites etc. I have noticed that these are the "forgotten deuce" trucks, but being underpowered and with auto trannies I understand why. I dont plan to sink tons into it, as it is in very good shape already. I figure put that trannie in, rebuild the brakes and give it a good appropriate era military paint job and make sure its safe and be good to go. Dont worry anybody, I still have the M-37's and still plan to make a trail rig outta one of them. Chances are, I will get a M-37 done first.

Thanks for your input.
