Last time that I checked this was a hobby. We all should approach matters of cost and service from this prospective. If we are not having fun and don't build relationships in the hobby-- what are we doing?? I am in the trucking business in the northeast. I encounter a lot of owner operators that want to pull trailers for me. these operators pick up a box at one locat1on and deliver it to it destination without EVER loading or unloading the merchandise from the trailer. Owner operators generally look to charge over $1.10/ mile for their drop/pick services. I do not use owner operators because i like having control over my vehicles, drivers, trailers (and my customer's freight. Brad (from the many praises) seems to be reputable and in my opinion cheap with regards to price. he has knowlege of the weight shape and problems associated with hauling our trucks DEAD or ALIVE. I would use Brad because he is a fellow hobbyist first and that his rates are good second. much in the same way that i use dave cirillo for parts that i could obtain locally in NY. His knowledge of our truck ensures me that i will get the right part the first time. his prices (including shipping) are generally better than those of my local providers. in addition, doing business with him (and dennis sherman, bob stahl, ray suitier, john bizal etc)ensures me that the pros in our hobby can stay in business for those times when you need real help. who else except these guys would repro parts for these trucks??? (our specific market is small compared to other vehices in the collector market) nothing would suck more than an existance where every time we needed parts or services that we had to go to a napa type store and deal with a 'what is that for' ' we don't have that' or 'you cant get that here' type whose knowledge of auto parts is limited to memorizing the bulb numbers to convert your civic's headlights to that purple / blue color that is so popular today. I'm not complaining or ranting, im just suggesting that we all look at this great hobby with the aim of it being enjoyable.
