I'm not sure. When I bought my '61 the fire dept. that owned it assured me that it had the original tires on it. (under 10K miles) It was a factory order from Detroit to a regional fire apparatus company. I've got their delivery report, regarding the specified equipment. The only mention of tires states "9.00 x 16.00 10-Ply Singles front, singles rear"
These tires have no manufacturer's name on them. Other than the size numbering they only say "multi-mile". The tread is very aggressive, without any of that sidewall tread.
When I found that link, the other night about the Power King tires, I said....that's them.
Does anyone know more about these Power King tires, or better yet, own them? Time for new rubber, and it looks like I might need to order these, without getting a chance to look at them. Jeeez, I don't like doing that.
