I once had the pleasure of watching an old timer rig and move some mighty heavy machinery using a very rickety looking setup on an old flatbed. He had a small electric winch, an A frame made out of pipe, a good selection of chain falls, come-alongs, pry bars, and pipes for rollers. I was amazed that he got things moved, but he knew what he was doing. He said he used to work in the shipyard where they had to move heavy things around in the passages and shafts down inside the ships where there was no crane available. Nowadays we have so much diesel-hydraulic power that we can make everything a dead lift, but in the old days when everything got moved by muscle power a rigger had to "outsmart" the load. It's amazing what a little pull in the right direction will do sometimes. Lessons I learned include: set things up to roll rather than drag even if that means making a temporary "roadbed" of planks, and lift heavy things a little bit at a time and block them up after each lift. You can never have too many jacking blocks, pipe rollers, and pry bars.
So I'm thinking the winch is probably not going to have to pull anywhere near 24,000 lbs if you rig it right. If the loader runs, can you use its hydraulics to lift a wheel up a bit and put planks or rocks under it? Can it do anything to pull itself out of the hole? I've gotten the backhoe up a slippery bank by hooking the bucket on stump and pulling. I also vote for getting a guy to try to drive the loader while you're pulling. Yes he's gotta be smart, gentle, and quick, and yes it could be somewhat dangerous, but every bit of tension you don't have in the cable will go a long ways towards safety too. Good luck!
