Does Goodyear still make their 9.00-16 zig-zag traction tread tire? It is/was a full 36" and pretty good (for a bias ply). Power Grip?
Though if you are going purely for original looks you might as well get NDs, and OTOH if you want good traction but also radial road adhesion 36X12.5R16 Swampers, 305/85R16 Buckshots or of course Michelins. Which look very "military" to me, since if you look at a Janes' Military Vehicles that's what most of the vehicles wear these days.
Other interesting bias ply tires to consider are 38.5/11.00-16 Boggers and 9.00-16 NATO treads, which look quite similar to NDs but are MUCH safer on ice and wet pavement because the big lugs are heavily siped.
All these tires fit on stock rims.
