Excerpts from the obituary for ANTHONY78PW, which ran May 4th in the San Diego Union Tribune:

"Services for Anthony Pratl, a 16 year old Kearny High sophomore who was killed Monday when his pickup crashed, are scheduled for tomorrow at Atonement Lutheran Church in San Diego."

"Anthony, who was captain of the Komets' junior varsity volleyball team, loved scuba diving and auto mechanics. 'Unlike most his age, he was very concerned with doing things the right way instead of the quickest way,' said James Shed of Kearny High's auto technology department. 'Anthony was patient and willing to work for results.' Shed noted that Anthony was the kind of student who made him glad to be a teacher. 'Anthony was a fine young man who never frustrated, but only delighted and amazed,' he said."

"He was fatally injured when he lost control of his pickup on Balboa Avenue. The vehicle went into a skid, flipped, rolled into an embankment and hit a pole."

"Donations are suggested to Kearny High School, Boys Volleyball, Attention: Coach Chris Sego, 7651 Wellington Street, San Diego, CA 92111."

What a great kid, an inspiration to others who knew his unbridled enthusiasm only through the keyboard and monitor. Our deepest condolences to his family for their tremendous loss.
