Did not make one bit of difference on mine. What made mine finally drive like it should was adjusting the steering box per FSM, making sure everything else steering related was tight, very stiff side walled load range E tires and as much positive caster as I could get. Both steering box adjustments were out and not all E rated tires (IMHO) are as stiff side walled as needed for these rigs. With my fingers crossed I still have the original ball joints and wheel bearings but did install the '98-'99 T style steering along with replacing the axle end track bar bushing with a poly one. This was over a period of a couple years.

I'm not positive which single thing made it drive well as I did several things at once when it finally worked good. The final things done were tires, steering box adjustment and the track bar bushing. I am highly suspicious the steering box was the main issue as both adjustments were quite a ways out. Mine is an '01 with 190,000 miles.
