Dan: the original distributor was a rebuilt points set up. It did the same thing at the same speeds but it feels now like the petronix one is a little better as it's not as bad. The coil is new and is all wired in correctly. The wiring harness has been checked and verified for any high resistance connections. None were foumd. The mech advance unit is free and the springs are both intact. The weights move out to the end of the stroke when moved by hand with just the normal spring tension acting on them. Terry
