You know, with all the high quality repro stuff being made, I think if someone sold a kit with exact copy of the 68 bracket & even include the right master & a drawing of how to run the lines...it would be a big seller.
I have no issue with single master systems but I'm extremly fussy with my brakes....I'm actually surprised that single brakes are legal...when you think about it.
I had a 61 W300 I restored when I was 19. I replaced every brake component....or so I thought! I bled the brakes & off I went in downtown Vancouver. I came to an intersection....no brakes!!!..not even a little!
Let me tell you...it was very scary...probably more so for the 4 or 5 pedestrians I swerved to miss.
Luckily I got it stopped & home without incident.
When I examined it, that was my first experience with a hydrovac....I had no idea what that thing was :)
Anyway, the vacuum created by the hydrovac sucked all the brake fluid out if the system! I was stumped...no fluid in the master & no leaks??
It just goes to show that sometimes it's best not to learn by trial & error. I my case I somehow didn't kill anyone but if could have played out very differently.
