A few winters ago we had an ice storm. I hit a patch in my 2001 CTD and went into a ditch. Could not drive it out.
Walked home in the snow, and my neighbor and I got the PW and brought her over.
In low gear 4X4 she pulled the diesel out like nothing.
In the Dodge literature, the total reduction of the gearing in a flatfender is stated as 73:1. This is with low range, 1st gear, 5.83 diff, 9X16 tires.
This reduction is what gives it its pulling power in spite of a 94 h.p. engine.
My neighbor - the pro master mechanic - was impressed.
