You can see a butt joint, I'm cheap with material for my own stuff. But I thought the butt came out pretty neat. For me. ;^)
I'm thinking about trying aluminum for a gas tank. PITA as it is, it might be easier than stainless.
Oh, while we are on tig, I tried tig-brazing today. Never worked before, on DC. But while studying up on tig-aluminum, I found mention of it. Finally. It said to use AC. Works like a charm. Less heat, less warpage on stainless. Faster too. Use silicone bronze, tungsten don't like zinc. At all.
But not good fro cast iron without loads of pre-heat. I'll still oxy-acet braze that. The preheat comes naturally- hot enough for braze to flow, enough preheat.
