Plugs are around $10 each. Used wire sets vary all over depending on condition but $100 is probably ballpark. There are some new ones being sold, or were a few years ago, that I think are actually for a different engine but will work, just not such perfect lengths. Same price range roughly.

How about trying some wire loom, either spiral wrap or oversized uncut type? I have a lot of pack rats but actually have not had the problem of them gnawing on spark plug wires. But they will gnaw and destroy a lot of things, that's for sure. When it comes to plastic, they do seem to be picky, so maybe the wire loom is a kind of plastic they don't like. A loose-weave wire braid can usually be expanded to quite a large diameter by pushing the ends together and then pulled out to cinch up tight on the wire. Maybe you can find some that will go over the spark plug boots when "expanded" and then pull up, if not totally tight, tight enough to be reasonably flexible and tidy over the wires. Tinned copper braid is available in all different sizes and is used for shielding and ground straps. Stainless steel braid is available for protecting hoses and wires, but the copper would surely repel the rats and would be easier to work with.
