I think you meant to try Dennis Sherman, not me, David Sherman. Pacific Car and Foundry is still in business in the Seattle area. They originally had the Carco line of winches, mostly used on bulldozers for logging, but I believe they've bought up all the other brands since then, Braden, Garwood, etc. When I called them looking for Carco parts, the fellow was very helpful but they don't make any parts for any of the old winches any more.
