What was it doing in the machine shop anyway? I hope they said more than "oops, we lost it." I hope they said "If you can find another one we'll pay you for it."
There are lots of different styles depending on the application (car, truck, civilian, military, industrial, marine, whatever) so you probably need to be more specific or find a picture of the right kind.
