My Diamond T was used by Wheeler General tire as a service truck. If the photo link does not work, you can click the link to see the newspaper ad from 1946 in my album. Charles Wheeler took over the General Tire Dealership from H. Spencer Brown earleir that year. This ad shows their four IH service trucks. I wish I could find a photo from one year later. My 1947 Diamond T was truck #6. The tire business must have been good after the war for them to buy the top-of-the-line Diamond T at a significantly higher cost than a comparable 1-ton from a mainstream manufacturer.
From the 30's (perhaps earlier) to 1949, Wheeler General Tire was located at 315 East Broadway. The building is still there.
