If your radiator core is in fairly decent condition and not busted up, you may be able to recondition it yourself. Do a visual examination including looking at the tubes inside the upper tank to see how clogged they are. If things look reasonable, you can reverse wash the radiator and attempt to clean it yourself with a water and muriatic acid mix. Instructions are on the web.

The radiator fins can be straightened using a pick or a radiator comb. Leaks can be soldered shut using a soft flame.

These radiators are well made, are not under pressure and have excess capacity. If corrosion has not eaten away the tubes, the radiators are good candidates for re-use.

If a radiator doesn't leak and will pass the full flow of a garden hose through it, it will work. Be careful about sticking the garden hose all the way into the tank, the metal end of the hose can bend the tubes closed.

Stop leak can be used to seal small leaks.
