Getting a little confused between the different posters. But, didn't several people advise a couple of weeks ago to not use the power bleeder if you are having a problem?
It's good practice not to push the pedal all the way to the floor, just until the pedal is a couple inches off the floor. But, this is easier said than done. It might be a good idea to place a block of wood under the pedal.
On a new master cylinder, you shouldn't have a problem. On an old master cylinder,there could be a corrosion or dirt build up on the portion of the cylinder that hasn't been used. This may damage the seal if you push into it.
Somebody just posted about having a little free play in the push rod.
Generally, on any machine, if you are at the limits of adjustment, you need to take a closer look. Manufacturers usually design their products to work in the middle range of adjustments.
