I just posted on the Dodge Boys post about losing a great employee, and it got me thinking about my young Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Air Men who are coming home, or because of the down sizing being, forced out.
These guys already know how to go the extra mile, they know how to show up on time, or stay late because it has to be done. Every day when I go to work I see them, and they are the best. The gate I go into work at has no cover, the young Marines stand in the rain, cold or heat to get the job done.
I had a truck I could not get to run. I had two Marines from the base come over to help me. They worked all day on the truck, because that was all they had, the next day both of them were getting on a plane to go to Iraq.
They have been gone for years keeping the wolf away from the door, just like our WWII generation, they just want to come home, start a family, and get on with life. All they want is a chance.
Sorry for the long post.
One of the few, Frank USMC RET
